    Genesee Lake School is now hiring a Speech Language Pathologist.  This position is a part-time 16/hour a week position.   We are 100% employee owned with dedicated and caring staff, we offer a wide variety of specialized services to our students, and we are seeking a candidate that will play an important and valued role within our organization.  

     

    Genesee Lake School is a nationally recognized school dedicated to improving the lives of children, adolescents, and young adults with developmental disabilities, mental health disorders, neurological disorders, and emotional disturbances.  In addition, we offer specialized programs for students with Autism Spectrum Disorders, Mood and Anxiety Disorders, and Complex Trauma.  As a Council on Accreditation certified residential treatment program, we follow an individualized, person-centered, and integrated team approach, emphasizing positive behavioral support, therapeutic relationships, and developmentally appropriate practices.  Our 160-acre campus in the wooded Wisconsin countryside is a calm and nurturing setting where students from around the country gain the skills and experiences necessary to successfully return to their families, school districts, and communities.  Our goal at Genesee Lake School is to provide an innovative and enriching environment for the students in our care to learn and experience all that life can offer.

     

    Responsibilities

    The Speech and Language Pathologist will work under the direction and supervision of the Education Director and will work with students ages 6-21 in screening, evaluating, diagnosing, and treating disorders of communication.  These disorders of speech and language may include issues with articulation, fluency, voice and resonance, receptive and expressive language, pragmatics, cognitive aspects of communication, and augmentative and alternative communication (AAC).  This position will develop and execute specific components of a speech and language program as specified in an individualized educational plan (IEP) as well as support the larger Genesee Lake School Community.

     

     

     

     

     

    Qualifications

    • At least 21 years old per licensing regulations
    • Masters Degree in Speech-Language Pathology
    • Speech and Language Pathology (1820) licensure
    • a minimum of 1 year of experience is preferred
