    To succeed in this role, you must show an understanding of the emotional and developmental disabilities of the people you serve. When you join our team, you will be enrolled in our training program designed to build the skills and confidence needed to meet your job requirements and build your career with us.


    As a Music Therapist, you will:

    • Engage students in active learning and provide best practices in music instruction/therapy.
    • Expose students to a variety of music instruments and resources—guitar, drums, recorders, etc.
    • Complete inventory of music supplies.
    • Collaborate with various departments and personnel to discuss music programming, specific student needs, and implementing individual treatment plans.
    • Assist in planning special events, such as the Holiday program, spring recognition ceremony, etc.
    • Provide direction and expectations to staff supporting music instruction to increase student engagement.
    • Monitor, upload, and approve requested music for school iPod use.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    Schedule, Wage, & Benefit Information

    • This is a part-time position that will work two 8-hour shifts per week.  Due to the limited number of hours available, this is not a benefit-eligible position.  
    • The first month of employment will consist of training, which will mean needing to be available Monday through Friday between the hours of 8-5 until the completion of required courses.
    • $24.50/hourly


    • Must be at least 21
    • Bachelor’s degree and certification in Music Therapy or related field required.
    • Familiarity with music curriculum needs for differentiation of instruction to meet the varying needs of students across all assigned classrooms.
    • Experience in a school setting preferred.
    • Experience in working with students with autism, emotional disabilities, or intellectual disabilities is preferred.
