To succeed in this role, you must show an understanding of the emotional and developmental disabilities of the people you serve.  When you join our team, you will be enrolled in our training program designed to build the skills and confidence needed to meet your job requirements and build your career with us.


As a Direct Support Professional, you will:

  • Ensure safety and security, providing supervision at all times.
  • Build relationships of trust.
  • Manage behavior of our students.
  • Demonstrate proactive, appropriate, and effective interactions with students while maintaining self-control during crisis interventions.
  • Complete documentation including tracking behavioral data, shift summaries, incident reports, and more.
  • Instruct and assist students in carrying out their daily living activities, including self-care management and developing social, communication, and emotional regulation skills.
  • Monitor students during the night-time hours
  • Address needs of students who may awaken in the night
  • Provide personal cares assistance if needed
  • Administer Medication
  • Assist with meal preparation
  • Assist with light cleaning/household chores



Wage, Benefit, & Schedule Information

  • $14.00/hour with a high school diploma or equivalent
  • $14.50/hour with an Associate Degree
  • $15.00/hour with a Bachelor's Degree
  • $1/hour shift differential for hours worked between 11pm and 7am.
  • Schedule will be 7-on-7-off  or 8-on-6-off and will involve working every other weekend.  Shifts may start as early as 7pm and may end as late as 8am.  This means that all shifts will be 10-13 hours long.
  • Must be available for approximately one month of training that occurs during 1st and 2nd shift hours prior to settling into a consistent 3rd shift schedule

  • Must be at least 21 years old
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required, Bachelor's Degree in Human Services, Psychology, or Social Services fields preferred
  • Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities is preferred
  • Valid WI driver's license with an acceptable driving record meeting company standards is strongly preferred
